Do you have the right mindset to get healthy?
While this might sound like an odd question it’s kinda realistic.
This year I made two trips to the Mayo Clinic and on the second trip, I stayed for three days to attend a clinic to understand and ACCEPT my diagnosis.
I did not leave there accepting I had fibromyalgia.
I am a mom with a 1 & 5 year old.
They gave me all these new rules about how to live my life.
They put me in a box and give me ideas and told me how to live my life.
I left nothing short of angry.
I was nowhere near the mindset to get healthy.
It took me about three months and a support system to get into the frame of mind to think about my health.
Let alone actually taking action steps to change my health!
So what am I saying?
It doesn’t have to happen today or even tomorrow it just has to be something that you want for yourself.
Also don’t feel like its something you have to do alone, reach out!
On the final day, I had gotten so down my husband took me out to go shopping to cheer me up. I had been wearing slippers for over 6 months cause everything was so painful when it touched my feet. We went to a Nike outlet. He got me a pair of Nike Pro AirMax, game changer. They felt like walking on clouds. While they did tingle a fair amount the investment in those shoes really changed my perspective on how I could move foward.Â
I really felt trapped in slippers and they had just told me I was. But one little change and my whole view tilted just enough. When I got home from Mayo, I did my own homework and began my own path to recovery and not the one that was planned for me.Â
